Every year, Hospice UK uses their annual Hospice Care Week to celebrate hospice care throughout the UK. This year, they focused on the amazing contribution that hospice shops make, calling for a ‘proper fit’ for hospice funding. They highlighted how more money is now spent buying second-hand goods in hospice shops than hospices receive from the Government. As well as raising vital income to help fund our free care, our shops also provide a friendly welcome and listening ear to many local people in our communities.

We know that a lot of our customers have been touched by the care a loved one has received from Princess Alice Hospice and that visiting their local shop can be an important way to stay connected with us. We have 42 shops in locations throughout our care area, which means there’s likely to be a Princess Alice Shop on a high street near you.

Our staff are supported brilliantly by dedicated volunteers who speak proudly about their roles and what they enjoy about giving their time in this way.
