We can turn your donated furniture items into outstanding care for local families, where and when they need it most.

Thank you so much for thinking of us when donating your item, we really appreciate it. A few things to note before you start:

  • There are some items (including some items of furniture) that we regretfully cannot accept.
  • Please review this guidance to ensure the type and condition of your item is suitable for collection.
  • This will help to avoid any inconvenience for you if we can’t proceed.
  • For other items in good clean undamaged condition, please use the form below to book a collection.
  • Our collections and deliveries are carried out by a third party, Boxmove. They specialise in collecting and delivering furniture for charities all over the UK.
  • Your booking will be assessed by your local Princess Alice shop to ensure the items are suitable for donation. Once this is done you will receive a text message confirming the date of your collection. Sometimes our shops may be unable to accept any further donations and may reject your request.
  • Please add as much detail as you can about your collection, including photographs of the items. This helps our shop teams make a decision whether to accept a donation. If there are no pictures then this makes it hard for us to properly assess the items, and it is more likely a job will be rejected.
  • If possible, please add Gift Aid to your donation. This helps us make more money from your donation. We do still accept donations without Gift Aid.
  • On the evening before your collection, you will receive a timeslot. This is provisional but gives you a good indication of when Boxmove will be there. You can also track the progress of the job using the link that Boxmove send via SMS.)
  • Boxmove drivers have discretion to turn down a collection if they feel items don’t comply with the guidelines. For example, if an item is incomplete or damaged (e.g. a dresser unit with only 3 working wheels or a sofa with stained or faded fabric).
  • Finally, please be aware that if you book a collection and your items aren’t suitable, or you’re not in when the team arrives, then Princess Alice Hospice will still have to pay a fee for the job. Please contact the shop before 2PM on the day before to make any changes if required.
