We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded £118,647 over three years from BBC Children in Need to support children and young people.

The funding will be used to provide pre-bereavement and post-bereavement support to children and young people aged 4–18, helping them navigate death, dying, grief and bereavement following the loss of a loved one.

We provide support to children and young people across Surrey and south-west London whose lives are affected by the death or terminal illness of a parent or close family member. Through one-to-one support, creative and therapeutic activities, and our monthly Dovetail Group, children and young people are given a safe space to explore their feelings, connect with peers who have shared similar experiences, and develop healthy coping strategies.

The funding will also support annual events, including our Christmas remembrance service and summer family day, giving children and young people the opportunity to build friendships, create positive memories and engage with the Hospice in a supportive, welcoming environment.

We are incredibly grateful to BBC Children in Need for their generous support, which will help ensure more children and young people receive the specialist care they need during one of the most difficult times in their lives.
