How would you describe your role in one sentence?
I lead and coordinate recruitment and people administration processes, helping to ensure the Hospice attracts, appoints and supports the talented people needed to enable the Hospice to deliver exceptional care.
Can you give us a potted history of your career so far?
After graduating with a degree in Business Studies, I began my career in marketing before moving into HR and recruitment. My experience includes working as an HR Manager for a multi-site retail business and, more recently, recruiting clinical and non-clinical staff within the NHS. Throughout my career I’ve particularly enjoyed process improvement, finding ways to make systems and processes more efficient while creating a positive experience for candidates and employees. My background has given me a well-rounded perspective that I now bring to my role at Princess Alice Hospice.
How long have you worked for the Hospice?
I joined Princess Alice Hospice in March 2025, so I have been with the Hospice for just over a year.
What three words would you use to describe Princess Alice Hospice?
Compassionate, supportive and dedicated.
What do you think other people would be surprised to know about your role?
People are often surprised by just how much coordination happens behind the scenes. Recruitment is much more than advertising vacancies and arranging interviews. It involves guiding managers through the process, compliance checks, onboarding, stakeholder engagement and ensuring candidates have a positive experience from their very first contact with the Hospice.
What personal qualities do you think you need to do your job?
Organisation, empathy and resilience are essential. I also think strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of people are important in helping me do my job effectively.
Who have you learned the most from since starting work at the Hospice?
It’s difficult to single out one person, as I’ve learned something from everyone I’ve worked with across the Hospice. The People Services team, my manager Natalia, and colleagues from different departments have all helped me understand the organisation, its values and the vital role each team plays in supporting patients and their families.
