June is a month rich with opportunities to recognise and celebrate communities that matter – from PRIDE month to Volunteers’ Week, Carers’ Week to Learning Disability Week, Loneliness Awareness Week and Refugee Week. This year, we’re bringing all of these together as our Month of Connection, a way to celebrate the inclusiveness and diversity of our charity and our community. We’ll be sharing stories that reflect the many different experiences of life, care, loss and death, and the role that connection plays in all of them.

Last month, we asked our volunteers to complete a survey about the connections they’ve made in their roles across the organisation. We were overwhelmed with the responses we received and look forward to displaying some of them in the Hospice during Volunteers’ Week, 1-7 June.

Connections can be found and made in so many areas of our lives – the people we care about, the traditions we hold close, the meals we share, the places that comfort us, or the small everyday moments that help us feel seen, supported and connected.

We want our Month of Connection to remind our community of the many ways they can connect with us, too. We’ve put together a calendar of courses and community activities to sign up to – take a look at our webpage and look out for details on our social media channels throughout the month.
