In 1980, there was no hospice in our area, but people like Peter Munday, one of our founders, believed local people deserved high-quality end of life care. Through their determination and the support of generous donors, the Hospice was established, with Peter serving as one of the founding Board of Trustees.
Peter Munday says, “One memory which stands out for me was the official opening of Princess Alice Hospice by the Queen Mother. She was scheduled to spend just over an hour at the Hospice but spent more than twice as long talking to patients and staff.”
