Carnival comes to Kingston
We’re excited to be part of this year’s Kingston Carnival on Sunday 7 September. This vibrant, family-friendly event is a fantastic celebration of Kingston’s rich cultural diversity — and a great opportunity to connect with our local community in a lively and meaningful way.
Organised by Kingston Racial Equalities Council (KREC), the carnival is part of the Kingston 2025 programme — a year of events marking 1100 years since the crowning of the first king of England, King Athelstan, in Kingston’s Market Square.
Expect a joyful day filled with great music, delicious African Caribbean food, a colourful carnival parade, and activities for all ages. It’s the carnivals 25th anniversary this year so a significant event in the community’s cultural calendar.
The Hospice is proud to be at the carnival on the day, raising awareness of the vital work we do in and around the Kingston community. If you’re there, please come and say hello, we’ll be in the ancient Market Place from 12 noon and tickets are free!
The carnival will be a highlight of the Kingston 2025 festivities, showcasing the borough’s rich cultural heritage and community spirit through colourful performances and diverse culinary offerings.
It promises to be a memorable celebration, reflecting the vibrant culture and history of Kingston while bringing together residents and visitors alike.
Let’s come together to celebrate, connect, and have some fun!
