When we receive donations to our shops, they tend to stay in that particular shop. However, sometimes we may move them to another shop, or sell them on eBay if we feel we can generate more income by doing so. More income means more care.

We have several members of staff with an eagle eye on the lookout for items that might fetch a little more when sold in a different way.

Recently, our Shepperton shop was donated this vintage concertina, which was noticed by one of our experienced members of staff as something a little bit special. The item was put aside and listed in our eBay shop where it sold for £4,200! Made by Charles Jeffries around 1900 it has become one of the most sought after concertina makes in history.

The sale of this rare musical instrument will cover the cost of 40 visits to patients at home by our Hospice at Home nurses. Thank you to everybody who donates to our shops.
