• Things to know before filling out this form

    • You will need to be aged 18
    • The London Marathon 2023 takes place on Sunday 23 April 2023
    • We only have 20 guaranteed London Marathon places, so unfortunately not every application will be successful
    • We will determine who gets a place through this application process (a key factor in our decision is based on how you plan to raise your sponsorship - therefore, please provide as much information as possible when asked on this form)
    • We ask all our runners to pledge a minimum sponsorship of £3,000 for the London Marathon

For more than 30 years, the Hospice has been providing free, high-quality specialist end of life care to tens of thousands of people with life-threatening illnesses. Our compassionate support, comfort and advice help families, carers and friends during their loved ones’ illness and through the process of loss and grief.

It costs us £10.1 million each year to provide free, high-quality care. Funding provided by Clinical Commissioning Groups represents circa 24% of our expenditure on charitable activities. In more normal times the balance is raised through legacies, fundraising, dedicated shop units, investments and the generous support of our communities. It is only the support of our community and beyond, that makes it possible to do our work.

We have 20 Charity Gold Bond places to allocate so to enhance your chances of gaining a place, please also enter the public ballot for the London Marathon. The public ballot will be open from Sunday 23 April 2022 till Friday 28 April 2022. TSC London Marathon Team have not confirmed this date yet, nor the date when ballot places will be chosen. The application form for runners will remain open until 14 November 2022 and runners will be chosen and informed if they are successful or not after this date.

If you are lucky enough to gain a ballot place, you can still run in aid of Princess Alice Hospice and will receive exactly the same support as a Gold Bond place runner during your training and on the day. The TCS London Marathon organisers will notify you if you are successful in gaining a ballot place (date TBC). If you are not successful in that ballot but have also applied for a Princess Alice Hospice place, the panel meets to allocate our Gold Bond places two to three weeks after the ballot has been announced.

Please fill in the application form as fully as possible, particularly paying attention to the part where you are asked for all your great ideas for reaching the minimum sponsorship pledge of £3,000.

We request that all runners set up their marathon page within 4 weeks of being awarded one of our gold bond marathon places.

Fields marked with * are mandatory to complete. If the 'next' button does not work check you have completed all fields.
