Before registering for this event, you should be fit to participate, seeking medical advice if appropriate. You should inform the Hospice of any relevant existing medical conditions and any arising after registration that might affect your participation. Your safety is of paramount importance to us. Please ensure that you follow all safety instructions and training procedures when participating in the event.

We have taken all reasonable steps to eliminate the chance of injury but there is a certain minimal risk in every activity and you should withdraw from the event if you have any doubts. Princess Alice Hospice, its employees, agents and volunteers accept no liability whatsoever to participants or spectators in respect of any loss, damage or personal injury which may be sustained in the course of this event other than personal injury (including death) caused by our negligence. Liability cannot be accepted for any damage, injury or loss arising from the negligence of participants (whether through failure to observe the rules of the event or otherwise).

Age

Minimum ages are specified for some events. These assume an average level of competence and maturity. However all participants under 18 require parental consent and it is for parents to decide if the event is appropriate for their child, seeking additional information, if necessary.

Please note, adults take full responsibility for under 16s in their care, and all participants take part at their own risk. Princess Alice Hospice is not responsible for checking that a child has permission to participate in the event.

We reserve the right to prohibit individuals from taking part, and will do so if participants under 16 have failed to provide evidence of parental consent.

Fundraising or Donating

We ask all participants to either raise sponsorship or make a donation for the Hospice, as outlined on the event information at the time of registering. Sometimes we will set minimum sponsorship amounts, and dates by which they should be achieved, to ensure the Hospice never subsidises a participant to raise funds for the Hospice. If you are taking part in the event as a team then Team Leaders are responsible for their team’s fundraising target.

Collecting and submitting sponsorship

Please do not bring any sponsorship money with you on the day. After the event, please collect together your sponsorship and submit this with your money return form, which you can download from here. We advise that where possible, the easiest, least time consuming way to fundraise is via a JustGiving or Virgin Money Giving page (please see tips here). It is also more cost effective for us, meaning as much money as possible goes towards providing care to our patients. Alternatively you can pay any sponsorship money collected in person online by making a single donation here.

Photography and Video

Photographs and videos may be taken of you during the event which may be used to publicise future events and the work of the Hospice generally including on our website. Please let us know when you register whether you consent or do not consent to this.

We would love to see photos of you preparing for the run and trying out your Santa suit, as well as lots of selfies from the day itself, so please do get involved on social media by using @pahospice on Twitter and @PrincessAliceHospice on Facebook, including the hashtag #SantaRun18.
