Individual support can be provided through our trained Bereavement Support Volunteers or our Bereavement Counsellor. Support can be offered at the hospice, by phone or video call. We can also support you to access our specialist NHS Mind Matters Practitioner.

Please note: These groups are open to anyone bereaved of someone under the care of the Hospice. Our Grieving an Adult Child Group is open to anyone in the community regardless of where, when or how your loved one died. If you wish to attend one of these groups there is no need to book. Attendance at Group Support is recommended for up to 2 years from joining.
We also offer a number of local Walk and Talks which are open to anyone who is bereaved.
We also have a monthly Compassionate Café at the Hospice, which anyone (including anyone who is bereaved) is welcome to attend.
Each of us reacts to bereavement in our own way and at our own pace. Sometimes you just need to talk. You may find it helpful to meet others in a similar situation and share your experiences at one of our group meetings, or our bereavement team can offer you one to one support. For some, supporting a charity in memory of a loved one can help with the grieving process. Donating to a cause, or dedicating a fundraising effort can be a good way to celebrate the life and legacy of a loved one
