Courses for individuals
We offer an interesting mix of courses, which we know are in great demand and delivered regularly to significant numbers of learners. Being a provider of care ourselves, we are close to what is important and regularly offer new courses, including those that reflect emerging themes in palliative care, such as community engagement.
European Certificate in Essential Palliative Care
This is an eight-week home learning course for doctors, nurses and associated healthcare professionals. Learn how to deliver better end of life care with a handbook, accompanied by online materials and the support of a facilitator. Assessment is by a reflective portfolio, examination and viva.
QCF – Award in Awareness of End of Life Care – including end of life and dementia care
This 12 credit course is available at vocational level 2 or 3 and is assessed by workbook. Four study days are followed by individual support with a facilitator before you submit your workbook. The course is accredited by City & Guilds.

These courses are aimed at individuals wanting to know more about the holistic care of patients.
These courses cover specific clinical skills needed in end of life care, such as management of syringe pumps, catheterisation and venepuncture.
Social and psychological care
An important part of palliative care is being able to understand the needs and concerns of the patient and everyone involved in their care. These courses will help equip you with the skills to provide this support.
We offer courses to help you communicate well with patients and families. The courses are offered at foundation level, through to expert level.
