About the role

We are looking for an administrator with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our Clinical Administration Team. You should have good organisational skills, accurate typing ability and a working knowledge of computer information systems.

You will support our busy multi-disciplinary teams in their work with patients. This will include liaising with colleagues across Princess Alice Hospice, being the first point of contact for patients and their families and general administrative duties.

Specialist Occupational Therapist – Band 6

We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist. You should have a good standard of general education and experience of working in a healthcare environment. The role involves supporting patients within their own homes. You will need to be able to work independently but will have the support of specialist therapists.

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced and versatile Specialist Nurse with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to join our Hospice at Home team. You will work primarily with the triage team reviewing and triaging all referrals for Princess Alice Hospice but also work flexibly across the service. You will act as a specialist resource for other health professionals, patients & carers. The post holder will be flexible in order to accommodate new ways of working in the future aimed at reaching more people.

You will work closely with the clinical nurse specialists to support specific developments within the team aimed at ensuring more people achieve their preferred place of care.

You should have a relevant degree or diploma or be in the process of undertaking one. Palliative care or oncology experience is essential.

The Hospice Night Nursing Team care for patients on the IN Patient Unit (IPU) and the Community Night Nursing Team can respond to patients in part of our catchment area when they need it most, this can either be through our Night Response Service visits or ‘Night Sits’ whereby our nurses remain with a patient and their family overnight.

In addition to core professional training and development opportunities, the Hospice provides a comprehensive specialist post registration development package, up to and including Masters Level Accreditation.

Operation Night Owl is focussed on building and growing our outstanding night team; caring for patients in the hospice and in their homes.

We are currently looking for an experienced and versatile Staff Nurse/Practitioner with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our existing Night Nursing Team.

Operation Night Owl has something for everyone; we are offering an exciting opportunity to work predominantly in the In-Patient Unit (IPU) but to support the Community Night Nursing Service in the future. The successful post holder will be expected to work flexibly across all our services to meet the needs of our patients including those who wish to remain at home.  In house training will be provided to successful candidates.

This position will also provide the right candidate with the opportunity to rotate within the Night Nursing service gaining both in-patient and community experience. Our aim is to provide flexibility to both you and our service whilst ensuring more people achieve their preferred place of care. You will work closely with the Night Clinical Lead to support the specific developments within the IPU and the commissioned projects across our catchment area.

All trained staff must have experience of working within a team on an In-Patient Unit and/or in the community and be able to demonstrate evidence of commitment to developing skills and knowledge in specialist palliative care. Experience of supporting and caring for terminally ill patients is also essential.

You will be responsible for the collection and delivery of furniture and textiles, and warehouse work, whilst ensuring the highest standards of customer service.

You will drive one of our Box Luton vans within distances of approximate a 30-mile radius. You will be physically able to lift heavy items as part of a team.

You will work closely with the Clinical Leads, including the Night Lead, to support specific developments within the team aimed at ensuring more people achieve a peaceful and comfortable death in their preferred place of care.

Experience of working within a team on an In-patient Unit and/or in the community is desirable, however candidates with experience of supporting and caring for terminally ill patients in other settings will also be considered. You must be able to demonstrate evidence of commitment to developing skills and knowledge in specialist palliative care.
