How we deliver the right care, by the right person, at the right time
For more than 30 years, Princess Alice Hospice has been
providing free, high quality specialist end of life care. We deliver our care
across a large part of Surrey, south west London and Middlesex – more than one
million people are eligible for our help. Today, at any one time, we are
looking after more than 800 people in need.
It costs £10.1 million each year to provide our free, high quality care, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Funding provided by the Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) represents only 24% of our expenditure on charitable activities. In normal times, the balance is raised through legacies, fundraising, our shops, investment and the generous support of our communities.
Volunteers have always played a vital part in the success of
our Hospice. We have over 1,200 volunteers in over 100 different roles supporting
our charity – 750 provide support in the Hospice and in the community and just
over 460 help in our shops.
By working together, our highly trained teams whether in Clinical,
Education and Research, Bereavement and Marketing or Operations are all
focused on ensuring families and carers
get the right care by the right person at the right time.
