Making or updating your Will

After taking care of the people closest to you, you may wish to remember Princess Alice Hospice in your Will. A gift left in your Will is a powerful and lasting way to support the Hospice, helping ensure that compassionate care is there for local families when they need it most, both now and in the future.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who considers leaving such a meaningful gift. If you are thinking about making a Will, or updating one you already have, the simple guide below explains how you can do this. And if you would like to talk things through, our Legacy team would be very happy to speak with you – whether over the phone or in person.

Step 1: Think about the type of gift you would like to leave

There are different ways you can include a gift to Princess Alice Hospice in your Will. Any gift, large or small, can make a meaningful difference.

A share of your estate
A residuary gift is the most popular way people choose to support a cause in their Will. It means leaving a percentage of what remains in your estate after your loved ones have been provided for. Supporters often choose to leave anything from 1% to 100%.

A cash gift
A pecuniary gift is a fixed sum of money that you choose to leave in your Will.

A specific item
Some people choose to leave a particular item they own, such as a piece of jewellery, a car, or a painting.

We want to make writing your Will as straightforward as possible. That’s why we offer a free Will writing service to allow supporters the opportunity to write a simple Will for free.

This includes a basic single or mirror Will. We have partnered with trusted legal specialists to deliver this service – online or face-to-face – you can choose whichever option feels most comfortable for you.
