Do your own thing

If the events you see on the web pages don’t float your boat, then why not do your own thing?

Whether you want to help us at one of our collections, get sponsored for a challenge or ask for donations instead of gifts, we’ll support you with top tips, tools and materials to help you make the most of your fundraising.

You could hold a quiz night, party, bake sale, do a sponsored head shave or organise your own cycling challenge. The fundraising team have lots of ideas and will support you all the way!

How we can support you:

  • You will receive a fundraising pack with lots of helpful tips and ideas to get you started
  • This will include a simple guide to fundraising online and setting up your Just Giving page.
  • We like to keep in contact with you so we’ll send you regular charity updates to motivate you with your event or challenge and fundraising.
  • Once you have finished your event, we always write to say thank you and to tell you how much you’ve raised. This is the perfect opportunity to share this with all your generous supporters and show them how well you have done

Baking equipment

A few fundraising ideas

Bake it for Princess Alice Hospice

Dust off your pinny, unpack your whisk and mixing bowls and get creative by baking and hosting a cake sale, tea/coffee morning, a or why not even be the King or Queen of your own bake off competition?

Sell a service

If your friends and family are a talented bunch, then ask them to donate their skills in a charity auction – anything from painting and DIY, to baking and sewing, or hairdressing.

Wii Olympics

Not quite the sporty type? No problem! Host an indoor Wii Olympics instead with chocolate medals for the winners.

Open your garden

Why not use your outside space to raise money for the Hospice?

Enjoy the benefits of all your hard work by opening your garden to family and friends, and if you’re really feeling brave you could even invite along the appreciative gardening public. Find out about opening your garden.

Beat those winter blues and support your local hospice by holding a quiz. Have lots of fun and raise much needed funds for Princess Alice Hospice.

Dinner party

Make it simple and host a dinner party in aid of Princess Alice Hospice. You could even get a few friends, colleagues and family together to do a ‘Come dine with me’ style tournament.

Hats for sale in our charity shopClothes or books sale

Have a root around your house for any unwanted clothes or gifts and either sell these items on e-bay or arrange a car boot sale. If you make it clear where the money for these items will l be going, then the customers may be willing to give a bit more for them.

Party people

Whether it’s a karaoke night, live music or fancy dress party, what better excuse to get all your favourite people together for a night. Just don’t forget to charge an entrance fee or hold a raffle (or both).

Pass on the present

Whatever you’re celebrating – wedding, anniversary, retirement or birthday – request donations instead of presents and inspire your family and friends to support Princess Alice Hospice.
