Celebration giving

Passing on the present

If your birthday, wedding or anniversary is coming up, why not make the day extra special by asking your guests to make a donation to the Hospice in place of a present?

Then you can just celebrate with family and friends, knowing your birthday or wedding is raising funds for a wonderful cause.

Melissa and David

weddingMelissa and David Wallis from Richmond banned gifts at their wedding and asked their guests to make donations to the Hospice instead.

Melissa said: “For our special day we decided that we would like to do something to help others. So, in place of a wedding list, we asked everyone to donate what they would have spent on our presents to Princess Alice Hospice.

“We have been genuinely very touched and amazed at the generosity of our friends and family; their donations have far surpassed what we hoped to be able to raise.

“Staff from the Hospice provided care for David’s mother, Anita, during her battle with cancer; which she sadly lost in April. It was a great comfort to us all, at such a distressing time, that Anita would have such care available to her.

“We hope that their donations can go some way to providing the same comfort to other patients and their families.”

Birthdays, weddings and anniversaries are all excellent opportunities to pass on the present!
