Here’s an extract of a poem, written by our chaplain, Steve Nolan, for our Light up a Life Service of Remembrance.

A friend I won’t forget

Who would have guessed our paths would cross?
Who knew we would have met?
a hidden turn along life’s way; a friend I won’t forget

We may have walked our different roads
We spoke our different rhymes
but friendship in the common things lent strength for laboured times

Shared markers passed along the way
Shared highs as well as lows
shared tears and laughter at the things that life and fate will throw

I’ll make a light to mark your life
I’ll strike the match for you
and I’ll remember in the days Yes! I’ll remember you

Who would have guessed our paths would cross?
Who knew we would have met?
a hidden turn along life’s way; a friend I won’t forget

John Greig, who is part of our Man Shed, made this lovely wooden plaque with the poem enscribed on;
