The #hellomynameis campaign was launched in 2013 by Dr Kate Granger MBE, then a cancer patient who was inspired during a hospital stay with post-operative sepsis. Dr Kate observed that some healthcare professionals neglected to introduce themselves when talking to her, so she took to social media to highlight the importance of introductions.

Finding ways to build relationships has always been important to everybody at Princess Alice Hospice, but never more so than during the pandemic, when masks have unfortunately hidden the smiles of nurses from the people they care for. We used #hellomynameis as the title of our recent campaign to introduce colleagues from around the organisation and to highlight how many different roles there are here
