We recently welcomed the Mayor of Elmbridge, Neil Houston to the Hospice, to tell him more about the work we do.

Jane Formby, our Honorary President, CEO Nigel Seymour and Community Partnerships and Events Lead, Claire Woodward enjoyed a conversation with The Mayor in our gardens. He was interested to learn more and it was a great opportunity for Nigel to talk about the breadth of our care services, our ambitions to reach more people, and explain how we are funded.

Claire explained the different ways we raise our funds and Rachael Basak, our Head of Community Involvement and Support, joined later to talk about our aspirations to be more accessible to some of our marginalised communities. Rachael explained how she collaborates with other agencies in her role, such as the Refugee Action Kingston, and about the opportunities we’re creating to work with similar organisations in Elmbridge.

IPU Manager, Sarah Dowd , was also on hand to explain how we can deliver personalised care to people and how we work to make the Hospice a place where people can feel comfortable and not afraid.
