Read on to find out more about Neena's busy role as Senior Digital Marketing Officer at the Hospice:

How would you describe your role in one sentence?

Marketer!

Neena at her desk, smiling at the cameraHow many people do you come into contact with?

So many! I’m often talking to and working with many teams right across the Hospice, from teams in Fundraising to the Volunteering team and many more. The variety of projects I get to work on is huge.

What’s the first thing you do on a standard day?

I’m sure everyone says this but check my emails and Teams messages to make my priority list for the day. I then check in on our social media accounts for engagement, check our digital ad campaigns and Google Analytics account.

What’s your favourite task?

Researching and trying new routes to market/marketing platforms.

Which task do you dislike the most?

Processing photos into our image library…

What’s the most interesting thing about your job?

Working on so many different campaigns with different people and being able to bring ideas on how we can reach our audiences. It’s great when you see hard work pay off, whether that be an increase in income or an increase in awareness.

What do you think other people would be surprised to know about your role?

The breadth of knowledge we need in the Marketing and Engagement team to support the Hospice, from knowing our organisational priorities, knowing how all the individual teams work, their purposes and their audiences, to keeping up with the ever-evolving marketing trends and platforms, especially in this rapidly growing digital era.

What skills do you need to do your job?

I would say you need to be good at spinning multiple plates, coming up with ideas and working to a deadline.

Who have you learned the most from at Princess Alice Hospice?

Everyone who works at the Hospice is genuinely so compassionate and dedicated, and that has taught me so much in my approach to my work.

Is there anything boring about your role?

Definitely not.

What’s the last thing you do before you leave at the end of the day?

Double check any live campaigns, make my to-do list for the next day and wash up my mug!
