Equal opportunities

We are committed to equality and diversity.

We promote equal opportunity in our employment regardless of race, colour, religion, belief, ethnic or national origin, gender, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, married or civil partner status, family status, disability, age, trade union membership or political brief.

We promote non-discriminatory practices and attitudes in our dealings with patients, patients' relatives, workers and with job applicants, so that prejudice, stereotyping, harrassment and victimisation can be eliminated in our day-to-day activities, employment and our care.

Disability

We ensure our recruitment process is fair and accessible for everyone. If you have a disability and need adjustment made to any part of the recruitment process please let us know. We make adjustments on an individual basis to help ensure that individuals can demonstrate their best to the Hospice.

Criminal Records Bureau

We take our responsibility to protect vulnerable people very seriously and so vacancies which involve contact with our patients, their families and carers may be subject to a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check. Candidates will be advised of this at the time of application.

Trade Unions

We recognise the important role trade unions can play in support of our staff and we have recognised agreements with the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and UNISON.
