Our mission and valuesWe help relieve pain and control our patients’ symptoms with free end of life care and high quality nursing. Even in the last stage of illness, we aim to give all patients the best possible quality of life. Through our education and research activities we also work to improve end of life care across the UK. Fundraising and community support are crucially important to our continued work as a charity. RespectRespect is our key value – respect for the unique worth of every person. Respect helps us to care for our patients and support their families and friends, and respect enables us to help each other to develop. KnowledgeStaying in touch with developments in clinical practices, psychology and technology, ensures that we remain a leading hospice with outstandingly high standards. It also means that we have a wealth of current experience and knowledge to share. CompassionRespect and knowledge are essential to our work, but compassion is the ingredient that holds it all together. It means we can empathise with our patients, their families, their friends and with each other. It helps keep our organisation human and caring. |
