Day-patient care

The Day Hospice provides clinical and therapeutic services, creative and complementary therapies.

It's open every weekday and patients can also take part in a wide range of activities that include art, craft, music and an internet facility, or patients can simply relax, enjoy our peaceful gardens and socialise.

The Day Hospice is a spacious purpose built area within the main Princess Alice Hospice building in Esher; the centre provides care and support to those with specialist palliative care needs.

Individual referrals to the service and attendance at the Day Hospice are for a variety of reasons.

  • Symptom control and monitoring by our specialist nursing team.
  • Palliative rehabilitation from our therapies team. Complementary therapies also offered.
  • Emotional and spiritual support from the chaplaincy and social work teams.
  • To enable carers to have a period of respite

"The social aspect of the Hospice is as important to me as the medical care I receive. I remember my first visit. I walked through the Day Hospice and saw everyone having fun and thought I want to be part of that".
