Reception volunteer

Eve has been volunteering at the Hospice for just over four years.

"I am one of the many people who manage the reception desk.  I am here for the people, who need the care and support of the Hospice and the first face someone sees makes a huge impression.

I know that I, along with all  the other volunteers, make sure we are friendly, sympathetic and approachable. Our patients and their loved ones are going through a difficult time; we want them to feel supported and loved as soon as they walk through the door. As a volunteer I am motivated by the knowledge that everyone in their own way, as part of a much bigger team, helps to make a difference.

For me, the Hospice is a place of support, happiness and love. I have had the opportunity to meet some great people and to make friendships. Volunteering at the Hospice is a decision I am very glad I made".
