Hospice volunteers

There are many different roles at the Hospice, so why not put your skills and experience to good use.

You may be a mum with a young family, a student, retired or working full-time, however, we are flexible and so any of the time you are able to give can make a real difference to the care given to our patients and support given to their loved ones.

Volunteer roles include:

  • Receptionist / administrator
  • Coffee shop and ward refreshments
  • Day Hospice
  • Complementary therapy
  • Patient transport
  • Flower arranging
  • Gardening
  • Bereavement support / chaplaincy

'I started volunteering at the Hospice in November 2009, and as I approach my first anniversary I can say that deciding to help my local Hospice was on of the best decisions I have made. Being in such a caring environment gives me great satisfaction and I really enjoy being part of the team and helping them to give the very best care and support to patients and their loved ones. It is a real privilege to be working along side colleagues who go that 'extra mile' every day'.
