We want you to have a great time raising money for us and making others aware of what we do.

We also want you to help put our minds at rest by doing it safely and to stop you from accidentally breaking any laws. Here are a few handy hints!

You will need to consider health and safety requirements and legal factors when taking part in any fundraising activity. Follow the professional advice of staff supervising any facilities that you use and the advice and instructions of equipment manufacturers.

Now for the serious bit - Princess Alice Hospice cannot accept liability for any loss, damange or injury suffered by you or anyone else as a result of taking part in or staging a fundraising event.

Please get adequate insurance cover and ensure any third party suppliers have also done the same. Call or email us for further advice and assistance and remember that there is plenty of advice, tips and guidance at www.hse.gov.uk.

Keep others safe!

Food and cake stalls are always popular; you need to remember that food hygiene is very important. If people are supporting you by buying food or being given food as a reward for fundraising, make sure they enjoy the experience. No one likes to get get sick, so take care when handling food and stick to the basic rules of safe preparation, storage and cooking.

Finally, remember to keep yourself safe!

If you are taking part in an event, make sure you are in good health and that the activity is suitable.  If you do have any doubts about your physical ability, be sure to get clearance from your doctor.
