Keep it legalThere are complex and very strict laws relating to raffles and lotteries. There are important legal requirements regarding prizes, cost of running a raffle or lottery and the way they are organised. Please make sure you get in touch with the fundraising team before holding an event or spending money getting raffle tickets printed. We are here to advise and assist you; we can even put you in touch with our printers. Why not make it very easy and simply invite our lottery team to your event and let them do all the hard work? Then your guests can have the chance to win £1000! If you are hosting an event and you intend to see or give away free alcohol, be sure to seek advice from your local authority about Temporary Licences. If you want to carry out a street collection for the Hospice, make sure you acquire all the required permission and licences from the local authority. Remember if you want to collect cash for the Hospice, then you can join numerous collections and supermarket bag packing schemes that we arrange throughout the year. Keep us informed so we can keep you legal! One easy way of making sure you stay on the right side of the law is to make us aware of your fundraising. We can then give you advice on legal requirements, fundraising tips, make our branded t-shirts, banners, balloons etc available, help with promotion and even volunteer at the actual events! Finally, don't forget to quote our registered charity number (1010930) when producing materials linked to your event. |
