Social Work Team and Bereavement Service
Social Work Team
Hospice Social Workers support patients, their carers and families who may be upset or worried about how to manage, or afraid of what lies ahead. Knowing there is someone to talk to in confidence about such fears and anxieties can help people to feel less alone and to realise the kinds of help available - practical, financial and emotional.
The Hospice Social Work team is staffed with qualified, experienced and skilled people who are employed to support people at difficult times. They work closely with other Hospice staff to ensure that patients, their carers and families get the support they need. Speak with any member of staff to contact us.
Bereavement Service
At the Princess Alice Hospice we believe that caring for dying people also includes the care of their relatives and friends whose pain may go on for a long time after death. We therefore offer a Bereavement Service and hope that people feel able to get in touch with us at any time for information or help.
For some people, individual Bereavement counselling can be helpful. Bereavement groups and Bereaved relatives evenings are another way that some people find comfort and support.
Please contact the Bereavement Service if you would like support or information, or would like to give feedback about the service. Alternatively if you prefer, your local CRUSE organisation may be able to offer support and advice.
