Social Workers
The Hospice employs a team of social workers who help with patients and families social or psychological issues. These may include helping to plan patient care on discharge or helping families to talk about their feelings. Parents often have concerns about how their children are coping with the situation when somebody is seriously ill and social workers can offer advice and assistance if needed.
The Social Workers are also able to offer advice on financial benefits.
The Social Work team manages a bereavement service supported by volunteers to support families and friends through their bereavement after a patient has died.
