Research
The Princess Alice Hospice supports today’s Evidence-Based Approach to clinical practice. We highly value the role of research as a source of information contributing to the body of knowledge related to our practice.
The majority of the research projects are being carried out by our own employees who are undertaking
MSc Advanced Practice courses. The external applicants may also be granted permission to carry out a research project involving our staff, patients or relatives. Formal application, including a final version of the research proposal/protocol needs to be submitted electronically at least 7 working days before the Research Committee Meeting.
The application form can be downloaded from here.
Research Committee meeting dates for 2010:
Dr Aruni Wijeratne, is the Chairman of the Hospice Research Committee. Our Research Nurse, Marek Plaskota co-ordinates research projects the Hospice is involved in.
We are also closely involved in other research projects in collaboration with the University of Surrey.
