Waitrose cyclists pedal towards £9.000A group of staff from local supermarkets recently visited Princess Alice Hospice to meet with Chief Executive, Nicki Shaw and hand over £9647.39. The donation was part of the larger pot of £18,000 raised when Waitrose staff from stores in Putney, Weybridge, Hersham and the south east region got together and cycled the 27 mile Olympic road race route in September 2011. The money could fund over 100 visits by community Princess Alice Nurses to patients’ homes across Surrey, south west London and Middlesex. The nurses provide vital support and advice to over 800 patients at any one time and work in partnership with local GPs, District Nurses and allied healthcare professionals to ensure a consistent and high level of care.
