Research projectsPrincess Alice Hospice supports today's Evidence-Based Approach to clinical practice. We highly value the role of research as a source of information contributing to the body of knowledge related to our practice. The majority of the research projects are being carried out by our own employees who are undertaking MSc Advanced Practice courses. External applicants may also be granted permission to carry out a research project involving our staff, patients or relatives. Formal applications, including a final version of the research proposal/protocol needs to be submitted electronically at least 7 working days before the Research Committee Meeting.
Dr Jennifer Todd is the Chairman of the Hospice Research Committee. Our Research Nurse, Marek Plaskota, co-ordinates research projects the Hospice is involved in.
We are also closely involved in other research projects in collaboration with Surrey University and Kingston and St George's University. Further research links have been established with the cancer networks of SW London (SWLCN) and Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire (SWSH).
